What is Hysteroscopy?
Hysteroscopy is an imaging and treatment method performed from inside the uterus with a camera approximately 7-10 mm thick. Hysteroscopy can be performed in cases where a definitive diagnosis cannot be made with radiological examinations (such as a medicated uterine film called HSG). Treatment can be started as soon as the symptoms of the disorder are observed. Hysteroscopy can be performed under general anesthesia. This prevents the patient from feeling pain during the procedure. The recovery period is much shorter than open surgery. Since there are no large surgical incisions, there is less risk of infection.
